Stars of Tomorrow is a
Rochester Broadway Theatre League (RBTL) arts education program, developed to bring recognition to the high school musical and its performing arts students. Essentially, it's the Tony® Awards of local high school musical theatre. This year 41 schools participated in the program, contending for recognition in 13 adjudicated categories, in a ceremony on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Auditorium Theatre. Those selected for leading male and female roles at Stars of Tomorrow had the opportunity to return to the Auditorium Theatre stage on May 26, 2011 to compete in the
Stars of Tomorrow NYC Bound for a chance to represent Rochester in the third annual
National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA) in NYC in June. The 2011 Winners were Shauni Ruetz from Wayne Central and Daniel Walton from Brockport High School. The 2011 Fan Favorite was Jackie Madejski from Albion and Albion also won the 2011 School Spirit Award.
